Next time you head to Charlotte Douglas, get ready for a smoother trip. After five years of construction, the airport’s $608 million Terminal Lobby Expansion is finally complete—and it’s designed with travelers in mind.

Here’s what you’ll notice:

• Faster security with 21 lanes (11 automated)

• More room to breathe thanks to 175,000 sq. ft. of bright, open space

• A modern baggage claim and expanded ticketing area

• New art and a welcoming Queen Charlotte statue at the center

• Easier curbside drop-offs

With nearly 59 million travelers passing through each year, these upgrades mean less congestion, more comfort, and a better start to your journey.
